Rather than being imported from a foreign manufacturer or produced from a mix of new and surplus parts, the 9CT is produced new entirely here in the United States.
I wanted to find out how its build quality, accuracy and reliability were. While there are certainly other interesting and more modern designs on the market, none have the sheer panache of the classic roller-locked MP5.
Today, it is seeing a surprising resurgence of popularity among American shooters. Despite its age compared to many of its competitors, roller-locked MP5 clones are currently being embraced by a whole new generation of shooters and collectors who love their looks, pedigree and performance. I always find it interesting how the firearms industry runs in cycles.
At any given time period, certain types of firearms are hot, and some are not. Wait a few years, and the cycle changes. The question is, why are PCCs and their pistol variants currently so popular?
To be frank, there are number of reasons. One of the most basic is many shooters live in a yard world. A large number of shooters and collectors only have access to an indoor or yard range. So, a 9x19mm Parabellum is a logical choice. Another is simple economics. Bulk 9x19mm Parabellum ball ammunition is relatively inexpensive and readily available. Plus, while the 9x19mm Parabellum dates back tothere is a diverse array of modern loads available for it.
It suppresses easily with subsonic ammunition, and the cartridge itself is capable of fine accuracy. Perhaps most importantly, they are fun. Included with the pistol were two round magazines, a single-point bungee sling and sight adjustment tool.SB Tactical HK PDW Adjustable Pistol Brace at Atlantic Firearms
Removing it from its hard case revealed a good-looking piece. Impressed, I filled out my paperwork and carted it home. Taking a closer look, I noted this model comes fitted with a nitride-treated 8. A threaded muzzle protector covers the threads and an O-ring keeps it from loosening. Behind the muzzle is a lightweight aluminum handguard with MLOK slots for mounting accessories, such as a white light. Sights consist of a front post centered in a round protector and a rear diopter.
The rear sight is adjustable for elevation and windage when zeroing. PTR welds a steel rail onto the top of the upper receiver. This measures 4. I personally think a compact red-dot sight is the way to go on a piece like this. A non-reciprocating charging handle is located on the left side directly above the handguard. The upper receiver, which is the serialized part of the firearm, is manufactured using stamped sheet metal welded together.
Mated to this is a two-position Navy-type polymer trigger-group housing with S and F markings. The 9CT features a roller-tipped paddle release located behind the magazine. This is easy to manipulate and ambidextrous. A push-button magazine release is also located on the right side of the receiver. Unfortunately, this is a bit too far forward for most right-handed shooters to reach from a firing grip.
No worries, the paddle release works just fine. Keep in mind, the bolt does not lock back on the last shot. However, it can be manually locked open by rotating the charging handle into a cut-out specifically for this. Sep 14, 87 44 Savannah, GA. I have. What kind of accuracy and reliability can I expect out of the platform? Are they worth the price? Oct 1, 8, 16, Dallas, TX. If you want one because you like the design and think it's a cool addition, go for it. You will not be impressed with the accuracy of it, compared to high end AR10 and AR15 rifles The right ones if built correctly will be quite reliable if you use good condition original magazines.
They are rather heavy and you won't be reloading any brass that comes out of them. It's sort of a rifle from a specific era when the M14, G3 and FAL were the go to rifles for general conflict. The M14 M1A has the greatest accuracy potential and ability to be upgraded out of those 3 period rifles.

See you later!Maybe Andre the Giant could manage a bigger pistol, but the 51P is pushing ergonomic limits. This pistol comes in at It weights 7. With the addition of the brace and a side-folder mechanism, the pistol comes in closer to 9 pounds. But big is a relative term. Its overall length is an astonishing 23 inches. While not impossible, concealment is difficult. And it is a great platform for the person looking for the easiest way to build that SBR.
For me the appeal of the 51P PDW is the availability of firepower in a compact package. Like most things that are insanely powerful, shooting the. So the 51P makes a great range gun, too. The PDW in its un-braced form is cumbersome and impractical at best, but that quickly goes out the window when you attach a SB47 arm brace to the rear. With the extra stability, the pistol comes to life. Without the brace, it is more of a why-the-hell-not?! At the same time, it is with out a doubt one characteristic of this weapon that worries me.
I never really felt it had much place in the PDW world, a world often defined by suburban and urban settings, and high population densities. I feel more comfortable with pistol caliber carbines in any situation that has a a potential for collateral damage.
Inside a house, for example, I worry about rounds punching through walls. That being said, the moment I step outside my door, the. This pistol is capable of making shots out to meters, realistically. For me, this pistol spend much of its life behind the seat of my truck. Did I mention that the pistol is big? From any distance, this pistol looks like its ancestors. Yet the closer you look, the more the gun deviates from the formula. The magazine release is transformed into a button, and the claw mount is replaced with a welded on rail.
And of course, the stock is missing.
It restricts function and breaks form. Getting the magazine out and back may seems cumbersome at first, even worse with the brace wrapped around your arm—but after your first few attempts it quickly becomes rudimentary. The gun runs dry and you hear that click we all dread hearing at the end of every string we fire.

Remove your check weld and raise the barrel to the air. Muscle the charging handle out of its tight den and lock it to the rear. Then with your firing had, let go of the pistol grip and hit the magazine release button while ripping the magazine from the well. Next, find that pistol grip again. Rock a magazine in the pistol with your support hand and karate chop the charging handle.
The gun is now ready to get back into the fight. After your initial attempts, loading gets easier. You can pick up real speed once you build a little muscle memory.
It takes me around 2 seconds to reload this pistol.
