Posted 16 July - AM. Posted 18 July - AM. Where are these settings? I just can't seem to find them. That's the first of my problems.

I am hoping once that is resolved the other problems will go away. It started with the screen that says "Windows - No Disk" exception processing message c parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c. Now the monitor turns on for about 30 seconds and then goes to sleep. I have to keep turning it on and off to try to see anything. Any help would be appreciated. I have log files but not sure if it is appropriate to post the log files here.

Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It only takes a minute to sign up. I recently installed Ubuntu I managed to get down to the last step, and finished the installation process. After it prompted me to remove what I used to install Ubuntu, I did so, removing my SanDisk 8GB flash drive, and allowed the system to reboot. However, when it should have started up with Ubuntu like I'm certain it should have doneI received the following error:.

From the time I installed the operating system, back in late August, till now, I've been trying to figure out how I would go about fixing this issue. My mom is also starting to get frustrated with my not having resolved the issue, as its the only desktop that has a printer installed.

To summarize the problem: -Successful boot -Screen brings up error -Screen goes to standby -Nothing else possible until desktop is rebooted, which will initiate the above three steps. A few notes: -I did not back up my computer before I installed Ubuntu. I didn't have anything to write to, and basically just forgot to. If you are able to log in from the terminal with username and password IE the screen you are seeing.

If you still dont see grub, but the frequency out range no longer exists, then do as ObsessiveFOSS suggested and hold down shift during the next boot. This should bring grub out of hiding. Option 2 If not able to log in,its probably best to boot the live cd again and use the boot repair tool. Whilst using boot repair its also possible to fix the out of range issue, as suggested above, with a simple tick of a box.

To do this. Again if the frequency error message is gone but grub is not showing try holding the shift key. Same problem happened to me in my HP Pavillion, if anyone is interested.

The thing was that Ubuntu did not install the proprietary drivers for the graphics card. To fix all at once I did the following:. Press the "down arrow" once during the Out of range message and hit enter to go to recovery mode. Select the first option, resume normal boot to get to safe mode.

Running failsafe graphic mode did not work for me. After booting you need to do two things: 1 Open a terminal window to fix the grub issue as stated in the previous post by damien. This solved every problem for me.

Input signal out of range error

I can see my grub screen and the graphics card is working fine. Ubuntu Community Ask!When disconnected from the switch, the monitor displays the usual message,to "check signal cable" for connection to the host. However, other keys give a beep sound when pressed. Everything was working fine before - I'm told.

Go to Solution. If port one is the only port with the issue, check the SIP cables out, try a server that is working on the other ports, on port 1 see if the issue stays with a port or follows the server.

Then get a known good working monitor, ensure the server has good video output. Once confirmed then plug into the KVM and test for video. If both the Rack monitor and the known good monitor have no video when plugging into the kvm, then there may be an issue with that switch. And it would need to be further troubleshot or replaced. When i turn my Acer Aspire desktop on, it shows me the start up but as soon as the 'Log on' screen is meant to show up, the screen goes black and a message pops up saying I would be able to change these settings, if it actually let me on to the computer!!!!

I've tried starting up in safe mode but it stops loading and sort of, freezes for about 20 minutes then the same input signal message shows up. I know its something to do with the computer, because other monitors do the same thing, and I've tried connecting using other cables and still have the same problem.

Please, please, please help me fix it!!! Preferably so that the computer still has my files on it, because I need the computer for my studies, and I can't afford to get a professional to fix it, as i have a baby on the way. Any help would be much appreciated.
